Taking her cue from Outkast, D.C. native Green Tea has dropped her fine 'Beautiful Wierdo' mixtape. With a strong, clear voice she delivers a powerful, soulful performance across the eight tracks. True highlights include 'Rose Coloured Glasses,' featuring Kenny Wesley, and the opening track, 'Here I Am.' With a neo-soul edge she brings other highlights, including 'Get Off That Road' and shows that she might just be a name to watch in the future. If you like Jill Scott and Eryklah Badu, but want something a little more accessible, then this may just be for you. With Dri Fish being the only other guest on this mixtape (along with Kenny Wesley) there is plenty of opportunity to get accustomed to Green Tea's style, particularly with the low-key title track. However it is not all understated as shown by the quite brilliant uptempo 'Ooh.' Available to download at http://greentea.bandcamp.com/. You can also check the mixtape out at the same site online before you buy, but do show some support for the art and make sure to put your money down on this if you are feeling it. That way we can all hopefully look forward to more from this undoubtedly talented vocalist...<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />
